2014 Halloween Trends
'Tis the season for....pumpkin pie!
I like to go to Trader Joe's to buy their small pumpkin for $1.99.
Even if you're not a baker, you'll find this easy pumpkin pie recipe doable!
Shhh, dont tell but, I cheat a bit and buy the graham cracker pie crust from Pavilions :)
This dish is always a big hit at potlucks & family parties!
The Pumpkin Carving Alternative-
Paint your pumpkins using chalkboard paint or paint of any color.
Decorate with thumbtacks or self adhesive jewels (or grab a glue gun).
Voila, instant chic festive decor!
Don't feel like painting? Grab a sharpie and get creative!
Here's one of our favorite monogram pumpkin designs because
it's appropriate for Halloween AND Thanksgiving!
Decorating with pumpkins
Add height to your tablescape by using
candlesticks topped with small gourds or mini pumpkins.
You can also trim the top off the pumpkin to make an even surface
then carefully place your server-ware on top.
Healthy Halloween Alternatives-
The sugar rush doesn't always have to come from candy.
This fun and festive platter is perfect for your kid's Halloween party.
Using a sharpie, decorate mandarin oranges to look like pumpkins.
They are a healthy alternative to handing out candy at your door.
