Vintage Alice in Wonderland

1st Birthday Party
Private Residence, Orange County

Today we're sharing a very special 1st birthday party we planned and designed for a dear client. The event was held at a private residence in Orange County. Our lovely clients brought us on for event design with a theme of vintage Alice in Wonderland. We really wanted to take this party to the next level, so we decided to go with an elaborate hanging book installation. As guests walked up to the property they were greeted with various vintage books hung from tall tress. It brought great wonderment and excitement to enter the party.

We decided to add glamorous elements to the party by using intricate designer and baker Plumeria Cake Studio. The elaborate desserts were accented with gold, teal, and royal purple. The ultra fabulous two tiered mini cake with pintuck design and gold edible sequins was the focal point of the dessert spread. The dessert table was complete with cupcakes, mini cupcakes, chocolate covered marshmallows, cake pops, and heart shaped rice crispy treats half dipped in pink chocolate. These desserts were equally beautiful and delicious!

We dreamed up a vintage mad hatter inspired table for guest to feast on. We decided to go with mismatched farm wood chairs, vintage tables, and a plethora of mix and match mini vases and teapot floral sprays. We also used vintage bourbon bottles as flower vases. Pink Daffodil provided us with beautiful florals.

Guest took home party favors of organic tea and honey complete with a mini honeycomb. Additionally, children took home party favor bags that included coloring books, crayons, stickers, and various toys.
We added paper butterflies with music note designs for a whimsical touch. The paper butterflies were used throughout the event and even showed up on some frames.
We really wanted to add a "Wow" factor as soon as guest entered the home. So, we dressed up the stairwell with alternating hanging roses and crystals and wrapped a whimsical vine around the handles.
We decorated with various vintage clocks throughout the event to coordinate with the theme.
For entertainment, we offered face painting by the ever-so-talented ARTovator. Tracy is a true artist. The creative designs she painted were the best I've ever seen. The children picked out their designs for a picture book.

Children could also design their own "Mad Hatter" hats. These precious mini hats clipped conveniently right on your hair. They added a stylish touch to the activities. Many adults participated in this craft as well.
Alice was so sweet and played flamingo croquet with the kids. We set up wickets on the lawn and provided comfortable vintage furniture for parents to lounge and watch the croquet game. Alice also read and sang to the children.
The beverage bar carried sweet vintage milk glasses with themed "drink me" labels and pink chevron straws. The head chef cut juicy slices of meat at the carving station. The adults feasted on Brazilian food per our clients request. The children ate mini sliders, fries, chicken fingers, and salad. Gotta get our greens in somehow!
